This game came to be the first F2P title I worked on. From this experience I had the opportunity to explore directions for a successful transition from high definition to mobile game design and learn how to use my existing skills to create gameplay that attains high levels of player retention and monetization.

About the game
Sandstorm: Pirates War is a sci-fi action RPG set in a post-apocalyptic desert world inhabited by fearsome pirates and mutant scavengers.
As the Captain of a flying Sand-Cruiser battleship, you are a bold survivor in lands ruined by war, pollution and nuclear fallout.
The game features an epic single player story set in the not-so-distant future, an online PvP battle arena, a formidable arsenal of weapons and a fleet of hover ships armored like tanks!
It offers a twist on the action genre with a CCG-style gameplay wherein actions come from what equipment your ship wears, and executing attacks is done through a tactical scratch-card like mechanic.
Designing combat system for a real-time action game, weapons and enemy behaviors, in order to create interesting and varied combat encounters.
In this project I was in charge to design the shop and the hangar (ship’s customization) providing for it to programmers and artist with flows and wireframes.
Also, I wrote the main plot and side missions, providing documentation and a narrative background for the different characters, factions and settings in the game.
